My Practice Values

I offer individual healing in service of collective healing. I believe that to care for & nourish our bodies is a radical act, and that a person more in touch with their own body is more in touch with the Earth, with other humans, with more-than-human beings, and with the wisdom that connects it all. When we care for & listen to our bodies, we are better able to show up sustainably for the work of liberation, in support of our communities, and in relationship with the world. I also recognize that individual healing can only go so far within the sick systems we all live in and that having a body/mind/spirit in this world is a very difficult thing. I center wholeness over wellness. I hope to offer a sanctuary where your story is heard and your body’s inherent goodness, wisdom, and healing is centered, no matter the form it may take.

There are five core values that I feel guide my practice:

Sovereignty

You know your own body & needs best, and hold sole governance over your experience. I will always listen to, trust, and believe what you are experiencing in your body. I encourage self-advocacy and welcome you to share as much of your experience as feels comfortable so we can shape an experience that best suits your body’s needs.

vitalism

Our bodies hold the innate intelligence it needs to orient toward healing, balance, and wholeness, especially when properly and holistically supported. Together we will explore listening to & following that wisdom, and offering your body, mind, and spirit the support you need to thrive.

empowerment

You are the healer; I am the helper. I will support you to the best of my ability with tools, skills, and practices to learn greater body awareness, attune to your body’s wisdom, and feel empowered to care for, nourish, and heal yourself.

connection

Humans have an inherent, physiological need for safe, non-sexual, loving touch and connection. Pleasure is very much at the root of that need; massage therapy offers a container to experience our sensual, feeling bodies with a skilled practitioner within a safe, consent-oriented container.

relationship

Massage therapy is relational work, built on mutual trust, shared intention, and safety. Like any other relationship, it requires time, consistency, and communication to grow and deepen. I strive to create relationships that move beyond the clinical, transactional space of client-practitioner, and honor the deep trust & intimacy of bodywork.
