About Integrative
Massage Therapy
I practice integrative, intuitive bodywork that is client-led and nervous system oriented. This means that we will work together and follow the wisdom of your body and nervous system to find the approach and techniques that work best for you. This is a collaborative & creative process. I draw from aspects of Swedish & deep tissue massage, as well as some myofascial & neuromuscular therapies, and an attention to energy to create an experience that supports your holistic wellbeing. I prefer to work slowly and intuitively, allowing your nervous system to set the pace, and your body to determine the depth of work.
My approach is feel-good, nourishing, and focuses on allowing your body to simply be. While goals & desired outcomes are welcome, I invite you to shift your intention to noticing & exploring new sensations & experiences in your body, tuning into your changing body & its changing needs, and allowing what is present to be without rushing to change or fix anything. My belief is that before we can expect change, first we must be with what is and allow our body permission to integrate the experiences we have been holding in our nervous system, our movement patterns, our tissues, and our emotional & spiritual body. I welcome you to explore a softer relationship with your body.
Together we can explore some of these questions…
What is your body asking for or trying to show you today?
What feelings or sensations are arising in your physical/emotional/spiritual body?
In what ways can you soften your expectations & allow your body to simply be? How might you practice a gentler presence with your changing body?
How might you allow your nervous system to lead the way & allow your body the time it needs to shift patterns?
How would you be with your body if there was nothing to fix?
If you are interested or curious, I am always happy to offer guidance or suggestions on holistic support you can integrate into your life to support the work we are doing together. This may look like movement practices, building plant relationships, nurturing spiritual or creative practices, connecting to community, and more!
