About Moon & Mountain
Moon & Mountain is born from the idea that our bodies are wise beings, both cosmic & earthly. We are made up of the very same stuff as both the Earth & the stars. We are Nature and deeply connected to the cycles of this Earth & of the cosmos. We hold within us the ancient wisdom of birth, renewal, change, and death; the continuous exchange of energy.
Colonization, capitalism, and white supremacy culture has severed us from our connection to our bodies, to the Earth, and to our interconnectedness with all living beings. To rediscover that connection is a radical, liberatory act. My hope is that Moon & Mountain can be a space to explore that connection, to remember that the Earth has lent you this body for a brief moment, and to nurture the wild experience that that is. I hope to support you in a loving practice that connects you to your body, nurtures awareness, listening, sensation, and aliveness, and welcomes you into a deeper relationship with your sacred home in this life. My wish is that you will carry all of that out with you into the world, and that the love, connection, and presence that we experience together will ripple outward.
It also so happens that my middle name is Moon, passed down to me from my paternal grandmother, which has always felt like a guide toward the magical, the cyclical, and the wild. I grew up playing & exploring in the Catskill Mountains, a place that continues to hold my heart & call me home. I am of the moon & of the mountains, and named my practice for these sacred connections.
about the space
The Moon & Mountain studio is located in my home in Germantown, Philadelphia. It’s a joy to be able to welcome clients into my home, and to be able to create a peaceful sanctuary to share with you. The studio is a private, spacious room on the second floor, overlooking our lovely, wild backyard.
Please be mindful that booking a massage with me means that you understand that you are coming into my home and that I share this home with my partner and our three cats. Please respect our space & the other beings who live here.
In our home we center queer joy, radical hospitality, body kindness, relational repair, good rest, good food, and big love. No hatred, bigots, fascists, or cops.
Accessibility and Sensory
Environment:
Both my house & the studio require navigating stairs. The bathroom is right next to the studio. The house and studio are cigarette, but not smoke-free. I regularly burn incense & herbs, but you can request that not be done before/during your session. Three cats live here, and while they won’t be in the space during your massage, they do occasionally hang out in the studio, and I cannot guarantee an allergen-free space. I run an air purifier and keep windows open as often as weather permits. There is currently no A/C in the studio. I use low or natural lighting only; no overhead lights!
